About This Offer The Big Time is a short (about 4 minutes) but powerful piece from a pivotal period in Bob’s life. Originally written in the early 1980s for Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra, it went un-recorded (and un-played) for many years. We are thrilled that the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra has finally recorded this piece and that we are able to offer the music to you exclusively through Bob’s site. This is a fantastic piece of music that your band will really love playing. There are no solos, but it will definitely showcase the band.
It should be noted that there is a French horn part and Percussion part in addition to the “regular” big band instrumentation. These could be omitted, but it is strongly suggested that they are included as they are part of Bob’s originals score and add a lot of depth to the chart.
