The radio big bands/orchestras of Europe played a huge role in Bob's career
beginning in the mid-to-late 1980s. This period – and the WDR band in
particular – ended up producing some of Bob's most fascinating and
progressive works, which Electricity is at the top of that list.
This is a six movement work was written in 1991 for the WDR Big Band and
features guitarist John Abercrombie. This album/work has long been a
favorite of many composers, but the scores have never been available until
now, as facsimiles of Bob's manuscript. The six titles included are:
“Farewell, New York,” “Ugly Music,” “White Blues,” “Say Ah,” “No Song,” and
“The Crystal Palace.”
