About this project
Out of all the music I have created over the last 18 years, La Clave Secreta is closest to my heart. This post-salsa band started in 1998 and in 2008, our record, an independent production done in home-studios, was Grammy nominated for Best Tropical Album. We are ready to hit the road with a new musical experience, and as we embark on the work of creating, producing and recording this experience, we want to bring our fans into the process of writing from the very beginning. Now, beyond any awards, we want to continue creating new music for this band, changing the way people hear us. Finally, we are ready to record new material, new songs and new arrangements. The culmination of this project will be a collection of 360 degree videos. Through this new medium, La Clave Secreta will continue to protect, honor, and progress this genre of music.
Today, there are so many important thoughts and ideas that we all want to express. As this project develops, La Clave Secreta and I want you, our participants, to collaborate in the making of this new material. You are invited to send us your ideas for songs and you'll see the creative process step by step, how your idea takes the shape of lyrics, melody, arrangement, pre-production MIDI demo, band rehearsal and finally the recording, mix and mastering. We will be writing and releasing three brand new songs every three months. At the end of the project, we will have a production of twelve new songs and arrangements that you will all be a part of.
