Recorded on Evanescence as the opening cut, "Wyrgly" is a raucous piece that features tenor saxophone, trombone and screaming electric guitar (Rick Margitza, John Fedchock and Ben Monder on the recording). "Wyrgly" has no doubles and is not nearly so difficult to play as it sounds. It throws a lot of sound and power and is a favorite of a lot of bands.

You'll find the scores and parts in your account as 'downloads.' I've included two interviews that should help players and directors understand how to approach the music by tapping the experience of the magnificent musicians who originally recorded it. There's also a video with rehearsal tips from yours truly, to help you get to the best result possible.

Over the years, we've had other instruments play the tenor solo, specifically alto and baritone. In that case, you'd just want to cover the backgrounds in the tenor part. Also, over the years, my own band has morphed these older pieces, and we now have the guitar "solo" through to the very end of the piece when we play this. The guitar soloist finishes off "Wyrgly" on their own with the rhythm section. Most guitar players don't argue with that.
