Recorded on Evanescence, "My Lament" features tenor (reed 4, played by Rick Margitza on the recording). This piece has very little doubling (which is optional) and is not too difficult to play. I've heard several high schools play this. It's a nice feature for an expressive tenor player.
Your featured tenor soloist will be able to listen to Rick Margitza talk about his approach to playing this piece via streamed audio, and I've made a video where I guide you through the rehearsal of "My Lament" as well.
Doubles are very minimal on this piece (they are covered in the piano), so you can play this even if no one in your group doubles.
