About This Offer

Recorded on Concert in the Garden, "Bulería, Soleá y Rumba" was commissioned by Jazz at Lincoln Center. It uses flamenco rhythms and requires one cajon, or better yet, two cajons, both players being a little familiar with flamenco rhythms. It's possible to have your drummer sit on a cajon and play cajon and drums, depending on the section of the piece. Also, contrabass trombone and contrabass clarinet are optional but wonderful if you are lucky enough to have them. This piece has a lot of doubles, and you may have to reach beyond what you have in your band to cover some parts.

There are some very helpful tools here to assist your band, including an MP3 with no solos for practice. There are also streamed audio interviews with musicians from the band as well as a video of me offering conducting tips. This is a challenging piece, but if you have a group willing to put in the work, the result can be worth it.
