Coot Stew is an appealing, medium-paced
chart with a relaxed swing feel that gives the sax section several great
opportunities to shine – the statement of the melody, a section soli,
lots of winding unison lines interacting with powerful brass figures.
was originally published by Kendor in 1990, and after being out of print
while, we are finally able to re-release it here. It has solo space for
piano, baritone sax, and muted trumpet.

This is a little more difficult that the other old Kendor music we are re-releasing and would be better suited for high school or college-level bands. In fact, my band used to play this every once in a while during our Monday night tenure at Visiones.
