About This Offer

Recorded on Concert in the Garden, "Dança Ilusória" is the third movement of "Three Romances" that was commissioned by the University of Miami. The harmonic movement sounds almost like Brazilian bossa nova, but the rhythmic feel is a two-beat foxtrot. I used to love dancing foxtrot, and literally imagined dancing to this. The title, in Portuguese, means, illusory dance. The piece is unique in that it just keeps modulating and modulating throughout. In a downloadable analysis, I try to give some insight into the harmonic movement. Sketches, interviews and an analysis should all help you get inside of this piece.

Rather large portions of this score are also available with all three levels of composer participation - Composer, Composer ‘Plus’ and Composer ‘Plus Plus’. If you plan to become a composer participant, you might want to see what's included in your download before making this purchase.
