Oct 02 2015 - Artist Spotlight: Reynaldo Jorge

Reynaldo Jorge, born in Puerto Rico, moved to New York City in 1971. After moving, he joined the Fania All-Stars, and appeared in the movie “Out Latin Thing” with the band. Reynaldo has been instrumental in bringing Salsa music to other parts of the world including Russia, Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, China and many other areas. His playing has been recorded on over 50 albums, including the Grammy Award winning; Ruben Blades’ “Antecedents”, Tito Puente’s “Homenaje A Benny” and “Mambo Birdland”, Tito Puente and Eddie Palmieri’s “Masterpice”, and others. He performs regularly with The Mambo Legends Orchestra and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

Grammy award winning trombonist and composer, Doug Beavers, had Reynaldo join him in an All-star cast for his new recording, Titanes del Trombon. The recording features some of the most well known musicians in Latin Jazz today and pays tribute to the giants of jazz and Latin trombone.
