This was the opening cut on Evanescence. It features tenor saxophone, trombone and screaming electric guitar. (Rick Margitza, John Fedchock and Ben Monder) It has no doubles and is not nearly so difficult to play as it sounds.
I've been interviewing the members of my band about their individual approaches to performing my music. These interviews are being streamed for you in your account in 'media shows.' The scores and parts are also in your account as 'downloads.' The interviews should help players and directors understand how to approach the music by tapping the experience of the magnificent musicians who have shaped it to be their own over the years. We will be conducting more and more interviews over time. Additionally, I will soon be recording myself talking about how I rehearse each of these pieces. I will let you know the potential tripping spots and the way to make each piece come alive. I've worked with many groups on this music, and it is very easy for me to now predict the areas that need addressing. I am confident that I can help you bring this music to the highest level with your own group.
