What is ArtistShare for Songwriters?

ArtistShare for Songwriters is a website specifically for songwriters and their fans. It is based on the award winning ArtistShare fan-funded model which has been making artist/fan connections for over 6 years.  Fans can follow the creative process of their favorite songwriters and participate directly as tomorrow's hit songs come to life.  Songwriters can build strong, long-lasting relationships with fans while funding the creation of new songs and recordings.

How does it work?

A songwriter decides to either

write a new song

professionally record an existing song

and share the creative experience with the fans.

The artist then creates a new project on the ArtistShare for Songwriters website and, using our state of the art software, is able to reach the fans directly through today’s most popular networks such as Facebook and MySpace as well as his/her own website and mailing list.

Fans buy in at various levels and get to witness the creation of the new work through periodic updates from the artist.

Once the song is complete, the fans are the first to be able to download the recording and the proceeds are paid out to the artist.

It is a simple but effective concept - ArtistShare has been doing it successfully since 2003 and have 4 Grammy award winning recordings and 11 Grammy nominations for our fan-funded projects. ArtistShare has created a tailored version specifically for songwriters. Be a part of our revolution. Join today.

What is the ArtistShare model?

ArtistShare is a system for artists to directly connect with their audience allowing them to "participate" directly and fund artistic projects. Since 2003, ArtistShare has been allowing fans to show appreciation for their favorite artists by funding their recording projects in exchange for access to the creative process, LTD Edition recordings, VIP access to recording sessions and even credit listing on the CD. Unlike other companies we build the model around the artist while providing the best fan support in the industry.

The ArtistShare philosophy

The explosion of digital downloading has shaken the roots of the music industry as we’ve known it – the concept of creating music for sale has become a tenuous prospect, as record labels and artists continue to lose profits due to “illegal” file sharing. A variety of solutions have cropped up to prevent music from being devalued – from digital rights management to completely new pricing models. ArtistShare, however, is not looking to fight these emerging technologies; rather, we work with this new platform to the benefit the artist.

At ArtistShare, we believe that the true value of music lies in the artist’s individual creativity and the unique process each artist uses to create their music. Since its inception, ArtistShare has been redefining the music industry by allowing fans to finance artist projects in exchange for access to the artist’s creative process. By reaching out directly to the consumer and focusing on the innate value of music, ArtistShare has created a model that is immune to changes in the industry.

ArtistShare artists don’t fear technology – they embrace it, understanding that the forces that threaten to devalue music only make the creativity of the artist all the more valuable.
